Strawberry growers started new plantings. A common problem is Strawberry Verticillium wilt. It is a soil-borne fungal disease. The most typical symptom is wilting of leaves, starting from the oldest ones, regardless of the soil moisture. Then the entire plant turns brown and wilts. The pathogen causing the disease can survive for up to 15 years in the soil on plant remains and infect subsequent crops. In addition to introducing preventive practices that limit the pressure of the disease, a good way to prevent or significantly reduce the pressure of this disease is to use microbiological fertilizer preparations containing beneficial strains of Trichoderma fungi. Beneficial microorganisms enter into symbiosis with plants, in addition to reducing verticillium wilt, improving the rooting of plants and increasing the number of seedlings that take root after planting.
VITASOIL PROTECT ® microbiological fertilizer preparation intended to increase plant resistance to many fungal and bacterial diseases. Contains spores of the fungi Trichoderma harzianum, viride and lignorum in an amount of 2 x 10⁹ CFU/gram.
