Potato crops have reached the period of row closure. This is the best period for foliar feeding: treatments can be carried out 2-3 times at intervals of 7-10 days. The most important nutrients administered foliarly are: boron, sulfur and manganese. Sulfur will contribute to the increase in sugar synthesis and thus to increase the transport of produced sugars to potato tubers and to optimize nitrogen management and reduce the content of nitrates in plants. This ingredient will also increase the plants’ resistance to blight and periodic water shortages. The administration of manganese will increase the starch content in the tubers and contribute to reducing susceptibility to common scab, rhizoctoniosis and late blight.
